Task
To design and build a personal cinema room in a detached house for family leisure time and to combine it with the playroom for the client’s children.
Features
We had to think how to conceal the sound and visual system elements to prevent children from accidental damaging the equipment and to create a mysterious and magic atmosphere during film show.
Solution
We built the sound system in the playroom walls and upholstered them with acoustextile that has no stitches. As a result, the room feels as if it were an unbounded space. To prevent children from damaging the projection screen, we concealed it behind a curtain which goes up only when the cinema mode is on. To create a magic atmosphere, we made up a ceiling with blinking stars. Finally, the ceiling lighting creates an impression as if there was no roof in the playroom.
